Harry's Country Club is know as "The Crown Jewel of the River Market"
We had a great turn out at Harry's Country Club. Mike was the winner of the pub crawl $30.00 certificate.
A little bit about Harry's:
Tables line the sidewalk out front affording a stunning view of the Kansas City skyline. An adjacent spacious patio has its own bar, a long charcoal grill on wheels, trailer park lighting and a bandstand for frequent live performances.
Harry's Country Club opened to a packed house October 25, 2003. A hip but reverent take on a 1940s honky-tonk roadhouse, Harry's is not kitschy or imitative but an homage that adores rather than mocks the past.
The new covered patio was great for all the members cigar smoking:
Dubbed "the Crown Jewel of the River Market " by the Kansas City Star, Harry's claims a loyal business lunch crowd and dinner regulars. Guests enjoy the pan fried catfish, beer battered onion rings and the traditional BLT or Philly cheesesteak. Still hungry? How about a fried bologna sandwich (on white bread of course!) For a hardier appetite, choose from entrées like the pork chop adobada or city fried chicken with pan gravy and roasted poblanos.
The music in Harry's may include Ray Price, Slim Whitman, Neko Case, Wayne Hancock, Patsy Cline, Tom Waits, Joni James and others as esoteric and satisfying. Stick some quarters in the jukebox and you can choose from Hank, Lefty, Frank, Billy -- even a 1950s Falstaff beer commercial.
And speaking of Falstaff, The Country Club proudly serves other "yard beers" (Schlitz, Pabst, Hamm’s) for only $2.25 a can. Or maybe you'd rather have a Chimay Red for $7. In addition to its outstanding beer selection, Harry's offers a full wine list, scores of whiskeys, tequilas, and vodkas. To fully enjoy Country Club pleasure, a 7 foot tall humidor holds imported, hand-rolled cigars for a perfectly tasteful match.
The dining room features enough memorabilia to stock a small museum and Harry has a story for every artifact. From cozy 2-tops to arrangements for larger parties, Harry's accommodates everyone.
But as cool as Harry's Country Club looks, tastes and sounds, it's the professional, friendly staff that ensures your presence is welcomed and appreciated. If you can make yourself leave, believe me, you' ll want to come back!
The lighting is low but the vibe is high as guests enjoy the many comforts that Harry's Country Club offers. Country Club living in the River Market --- This Is It!
