We had a great meeting with Cigars and favors on the Longbranch Saloon smoking deck. I drew prizes and one lucky winner won the signed Oliva Family of Cigars box at 7:00pm. We also had a special drawing for a great mystery prize.

Outlaw Cigar Blind Tasting, June 4th, 2009

Outlaw Cigar has hosted the meeting in their store.
**This was a blind tasting where you tell the Outlaw Cigar Staff what type of cigar you love to smoke and they retrieve from their gigantic humidor a 2 special cigars.
**The Staff removed the cigar band of both cigars and you try to guess what kind of brand of cigar you are smoking. (This is a buy one cigar ($10 and under)and get a free cigar for the blind tasting only!)

We also blindly tested the taste of the cigar as well as congac and some fine scotch.
Outlaw Cigar had Scott and Kevin, from their staff show us how the cigars are rolled.

Qudos Cigar Bar and Restaurant Meeting, June 1st, 2009

We had a great meeting at Qudos Cigar Bar.  They had awsome drinks and the patio area for cigar smokers was nice.  They carry many brands of cigars in their humidor.  Dave and Windell also broke out the Blue Label Scotch and treated us all to premium taste.

Kudos is a great community cigar bar. Gary Becker's favorite place to hang out with friends, have a great cigar and a drink.
Qudos - wine/cognac/cigar bar - plans to encourage it by offering a "sunroom, patio" where customers can light up. The main room has cushy leather seats and loveseats, along with a bar area. Cigar scenes from old movies will be shown on wide screen TVs while customers chow down on appetizers and entrees.

Owners Windell Fields and David Lux visited similar operations in Las Vegas and wanted to bring the concept to Kansas City.

The city allows smoking in establishments where more than 80 percent of sales are tobacco-related. The operations cannot sell food or alcohol, cannot allow anyone under age 18 into their smoking areas, and must have separate ventilation systems.

The members visited Qudos on May 18th, 2009 after our "Foundation Meeting" at the Gordon Biersch Brewery in the Kansas City Power & Light District. Qudos is just a short walk from Gordon Biersch Brewery. Hosts/KC Cigar Club Members; David Lux and Windell Fields have a great place to relax with a great cigar and drink on their outdoor patio. They have a cigar humidor with many special cigar selections to satisify your particular taste. They sport the best Blue Label Scotch in Kansas City. You don't want to miss this meetup event!

Foundation Meeting May 18th, 2009 at Gordon Biersch Brewery, KC Power and Light District

The Kansas City Cigar Aficionado Club was started in Mayof 2009.

The idea of the club was started by Al Sanchez who wanted to bring a bunch of guys who love smoking cigars together in some of the local Kansas City food and drink establishments which are "Cigar Friendly". The club has grown to about 85 active members and about 20 pending members.

Gary Becker, Member #3, of HP Cigars became a Co-Founder and Assistant Organizer of the club a few days later.
